PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
( accountancy, bookkeeping, data management, logistics, capacity planning etc)

After a riotous first year, Totnes Fringe Festival is throwing its arms open and calling for volunteers to help make 2026 even bigger, braver and more gloriously off-beat.
Launched in 2025 as a defiantly independent celebration of live performance, Totnes Fringe burst into town with over 60 shows across 11 venues, all delivered by volunteers.
More than 2200 audience members turned up, seats were filled at around 85% capacity, and plenty of shows sold out — proof that Totnes was more than ready for its own Fringe.
Now, fuelled by that momentum (and a fair amount of cold brew), the festival team is looking to grow its volunteer crew and invite people from Totnes, the wider South West and beyond to help shape the 2026 programme.
The Festival dates for 2026 are 9th -12th July, with meetings taking place ahead of that depending on roles. The minimum commitment is 12 hours over the festival period for stewards and runners, for some larger roles the commitment starts before the festival and is significant.
No experience? No problem. What matters is curiosity, reliability, a love of live performance and a belief that culture works best when it’s community-led, slightly chaotic and made with care.
There are roles for all sorts of people, including stewards, runners and marketing helpers — as well as opportunities to step into more involved roles such as venue managers, tech support (lighting and sound), box office and front-of-house, and accountancy or data support to help keep the Fringe sustainable and independent.
If you like theatre in unusual places, comedy that takes risks, dance that surprises you, and being part of something built from the ground up — this is your invitation.
Come help make Totnes Fringe 2026 happen.
It won’t be boring.
